ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is an attention deficit disorder. Though ADHD symptoms usually first appear during childhood, it can continue on as adult ADHD. At BrainRx, while we don’t diagnose or treat ADHD, many of our students come to us with previous diagnoses, including ADHD.
ADHD in children can be of 3 types:
predominantly inattentive type ADHD,
predominantly hyperactive / impulsive type ADHD and
combined type ADHD.
Children with ADHD can be easily distracted, have difficulty paying attention when learning or doing something new, become bored quite frequently, appear as if they are not listening when being spoken to, may daydream too often, may be fidgety when sitting, may act impatient, may act without showing restraint, may talk continuously or play with everything they can get their hands on. Often children with ADHD could need help with homework as a result of attention problems.
Some adult ADHD symptoms are mis-prioritizing issues, staying disorganized in important tasks or daily tasks, being highly distracted, difficulty relaxing because of restlessness and poor listening skills. Brain training helps greatly in attention deficit disorder in adults as well.
We help children and adults with ADHD and attention issues because we address the cognitive deficits that are commonly linked to these difficulties. Our brain training program strengthens three kinds of attention. That exactly is why our clients of all ages report significant improvement in aspects of school, work and life.
